Cinema, theatre, museum… Which one will you pick for your next cultural outing?
Whatever you choose, there’s something we should all challenge ourselves to do as we return to normality after months of social isolation. You may be waiting in line at some point during your outing – instead of checking your phone, try to check-in with the people around you instead. Observe those who are providing a service or who might seem open to conversation.
We could all do with a bit of attention and although you might engage in small talk to start with, you could be amazed by the potential outcome of a discussion. You might just happen to be at the right place at the right time to connect with someone.
Ask questions like “How many people work here?” or “How’s your day going?”, ask for a recommendation, or simply make an effort to say something positive and kind. This may lead to an interesting exchange of information, or you might just be the one who lifts that person up and brighten their day a little.
Lean into whatever you learn from any response you get. This will fuel your curiosity and enrich you experiences.
I would love to hear your ideas and experiences.
