An early start

My first stop on the road to finding a job was in France, where I was given the chance to join class at the company in Bordeaux.

The class took place on the sloped stage of the Opera house. Despite some inital nerves I found myself enjoying the class very much; as I excecuted the combinations I definitely felt that I was having a “good day” in ballet terms. This probably helped contribute to the news that I have to share…

I am very happy (and surprised!) to announce that I will joining the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux from mid November to end of December. For now it is a temporary contract which consists of my involvement as a member of the corps de ballet in their production of Sleeping Beauty, so I will still be auditioning for other companies in the upcoming weeks and months. I am so grateful and excited for this opportunity and look forward to finally experiencing the true working environment of a company.

Here is a picture I took of the beautiful Grand Théâtre as I left after being told the good news. Can’t wait to be back soon!
