After travelling across continents on my way back from Australia I am home at last. Since arriving on Wednesday afternoon I have used my scooter to get to the local pool to swim a few lengths, gone for an early evening stroll in the centre of Ferrara and said hello to some family and friends. I love the hot days, the peaceful countryside and the sound of the noisy cicadas. This for me is, and always will be, home.
No sooner had I finished unpacking than it was time to prepare for summer school. I usually miss the ones that are on earlier in the summer so I am very excited to be going to this one in Civitanova. This is the weekend where most Italians hit the road for the mid-August holiday. To avoid the worst of the traffic congestion we will head three hours south to the Adriatic Coast very early tomorrow, in plenty of time for the start of the course on Monday morning. I am looking forward to meeting new people and working with influential teachers.
That’s all for now but I will for sure have a lot to tell you in one week’s time!
