A casa mia

We have a home video of my mother and father excitingly visiting an old farmhouse in their classic Alfa Romeo Spider just days before I was born. My dad’s offer was accepted and after some renovation work, we moved in when I was five months old. Sadly the Spider was sold to pay for the house but at least we still have dad’s Zagato that he has owned since he graduated from University more than 20 years ago.

Our house in the Italian countryside is the only home I have ever known so even after a year at school in France and four years in London, home to me is in the fruit growing region of Emilia Romagna. Today I fly back for four weeks and waiting for me there is my cat, my scooter and family life in the village where everyone knows everyone else by name.

Over the next month I will nourish you on a slice of la dolce vita. Ciao!
