‘Games for Gods’ choreography by Matthew Hart

At home today, washing out my ballet tights and getting my feet back on the ground after a fantastic week of rehearsals and performances at the Linbury Studio Theatre of the Royal Opera House. The absolute highlight for me was our premiere performance of Matthew Hart’s new choreography Games for Gods on Friday 6th July. Our readiness was not a certainty with the final fitting of some costumes just hours before we danced. Matthew had to work hard to compress his cast of 52 dancers to fit the smaller Linbury Stage dimensions, but it was lovely when he came backstage at the end of the performance to shake our hands and thank us each in person. We performed again at yesterday’s matinée and we are now looking forward to a week of intense rehearsals to take our ‘Olympic Diversion’ onto the main stage of the Royal Opera House with full orchestra accompaniment. I hope to have some positive critic reviews to share with you next week. In the meantime here is a photo of me adding finishing touches to my stage makeup.
